5th Grade Michelangelo Art

Michelangelo was a famous Italian painter and sculptor who painted the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel.  The 5th graders were given the opportunity to experience the challenge of painting upside down.  Class consensus was they would like to remain at their desks in the future.

5th and 2nd Grade Printmaking


Using styrofoam turkey trays, the students explored the concept of positive and negative space.  The 5th graders created prints of famous landmarks in Portland and the 2nd graders created prints of spring.






3rd Grade Missing Objects





The third graders are currently studying value. To bring the concept to life they traced an inanimate object and filled in the shapes with different values of black and white. Can you guess the shapes?
